November Prayer
Lord God, whose days are without end and whose mercies beyond counting,
Keep us mindful that life is short and the hour of death unknown.
Let your Spirit guide our days on earth in the ways of holiness and justice,
That we may serve you in union with the whole Church,
Sure in faith, strong in hope, perfect in love.
And when our earthly dwelling is ended, lead us rejoicing into your kingdom where you live for ever and ever. Amen.

Prayer to StMartin de Porres for Pets and Animals
Feast 5 November
Gentle St Martin, you loved the animals God gives to us in the wonders of creation. Watch over the animals Our Loving Father has provided for our use and welfare. Bless also our pets.
Intercede that all disease and harm may be averted since on them so much of our livelihood and joy depends.
Help us never to be cruel to them or neglectful of them.
May we always, following your example, attend our daily tasks with gratitude and with ever growing love for God and for one another. And may we know the joy of animals and pets kept safe by your powerful intercession. We make this and all our prayers through Christ Our Lord. Amen.

A Prayer to St Leo the Great • Feast 10 November
Dear Lord, we thank You for giving us
Pope St Leo the Great as an example of holiness.
Help us to imitate the love of You he showed
in choosing to respond to Your call to the diaconate
and the papacy.
You served the Church faithfully as a deacon,
and You became known for Your virtues.
Then, You answered God’s call to lead
His Church as the Pope.
Pray for me, that I may always be open to doing
God’s will in my life, no matter what He might call me to.
Pray that I may be as devoted a servant of God as You were.
Through Christ our Lord. Amen

St Josaphat Prayer for the People of Ukraine
Feast 12 November• Patron Saint of Ukraine
Saint Josaphat, you stood on the side of justice and right
While showing kindness to friend and foe alike.
Your death was a saintly martyrdom.
Your enemy in the shape of an angry mob beat you with sticks
And weighed down your body with stones in deep water.
We ask you to intercede on behalf of your Ukrainian people
Who today face martyrdom and suffering.
Bombs, bullets, and deprivation are the sticks and stones
That inflict terror and death on innocent people.
We join our prayers to yours Oh Holy Martyr for your people.
May we from whose skies only rain and hail fall look
With compassion and goodwill towards your people in Ukraine.
Inspire us to assist in whatever way is within our means.
We ask you with God’s help to make us doves of peace
And not hawks of war or hatred in this conflict, and in our lives.
Saint Josaphat, intercede for Ukraine and bring peace, only peace. Amen

A Blessing – by St Columbanus • Feast 23 November
Lord, may everything we do this day begin with Your blessing and continue with Your help.
May everything we say this day begin with Your love and continue with Your grace.
May everything we plan this day begin with Your inspiration and continue with Your peace.
So that throughout our lives all that we begin in You may by You be happily ended, and all that we seek through You may be lovingly attended. Amen

St Clement of Rome (third successor of St Peter)
Feast 25 November
Every Member of the Church is Important
The great cannot exist without the small, nor the small without the great. There is a certain combination among all, and usefulness lies in this. (I Clement 37:4)
