St Kieran’s Prayer • 5 March

That I may,

Reach as high as is possible,

Believe with all my being,

Learn with all my power,

Give with all my heart,

and pray with all my soul.

That I may teach in ways that are gentle,

and carry victory and loss in perspective.

That I may grow each day,

here – in some new way.

That I may look back in thanks and always forward in hope,

And that I may ever know the steadfast support of you Kieran our Saint,

Who came from Cape Clear to Saigher,

With faith, trust and hope.

A future yet untold.

Prayer for Farmers

God of all Creation,
we give you thanks for those who cultivate the earth,
for those who wake before dawn and labor in the fields,
for those who care for livestock,
for those who plant and tend with care.
We pray they know they are appreciated beyond measure.

Too often, we overlook the gift of farmers
as we grow ever more distant from the processes
that bring food to our tables.
We pray that we see and know
those who do the planting, tending, and harvesting.
They are a community of sowers
on whom our survival and flourishing depend.

So for farmers who keep food on the shelves
and make plenty a possibility,
we give thanks.
Guide them and bless them, O God of Abundance.
We pray for favorable weather,
abundant crops,
communities of support,
fair economic practices,
and strength and perseverance
as they live into your calling that we tend to the gift of creation,
stewarding life in celebration of each new day.

Prayer for Mother’s Day • 15 March

Heavenly Father,
We thank You for the gift of mothers, through whom Your love is revealed in so many ways.
Bless all mothers:
those who are joyful, and those who are burdened,
those expecting new life, and those who mourn a loss,
those who nurture children now, and those who lovingly remember.

Grant them strength, patience, and joy in their vocation.
May the Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of our Lord,
be their guide and consolation.
Let their sacrifices be honored, their love returned, and their hearts filled with peace.

We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Prayer for Emigrants • 17 March

Bless all those who have left our country and now live in other lands. Give them a strong faith so that they will always put their trust in you and make you known by the example of their lives. Console those who are lonely because they are separated from those they love. Help all missionaries who are working far from home to make your love known. Bless our people overseas who are sick or in prison. We pray for foreigners living in our country that they may experience our hospitality. Grant your eternal welcome to our emigrants who have died and to all the dead. Amen
